Mechanical properties

Universal tensile machine is an equipment that stresses materials to measure its mechanical properties.  A conventional approach consist in stressing progressively the material up to its breakdown. This test may be carried out from cryogenic temperature up to maximal material temperature.

Another approach consist in stressing the same test vehicle to a fix load and to record its strain behaviour through time, we are talking about creep measurement. Alternatively, we can apply a constant strain the test vehicle to a and to record the evolution of the force necessary to maintain the strain through time, we are talking about relaxation measurement. In any case, these tests allows to predict the part behaviour in service. Moreover, these characterisation can be performed at different temperatures.

Test vehicles may vary a lot. It could be as simple as a bulk material but it also could be an bonded probe made to measure adhesive properties. We are particularly specialised in customising test to fit your application need. Please do not hesitate to contact us if you want to know more.
